The Influence of Circadian Rhythm in the Cell Cycle Studies of the One Day Postnatal Chick Liver Cell

Abstract
During cell cycle studies in our laboratory, a significant variation has been noted in }.abeled mitotic figure acording to the injection time of 3H-thymidine with 24 hour cycles, but the difference of their cycle times have not yet been cleared up for intact tissues in the mammalians.
The purpose of the present investigation was firstly to find out if there are diurnal variations in the number of DNA-synthesizir..g liver cells. Secondary to see if there are any correlation between the injection time of the different situation and the diurnal variations.
Several results were obtained as followings:
1. In the A. NI. Group, the DNA synthesis time was estimated to require 8.3 hours. Thus the estimated generation cycle of the hepatic cell was 46 hours.
2. In the P. M. Group, it was estimated to require 7 hours for the DNA synthesis time the estimated generation cycle of the hepatic cell was 46 hours.
3. In the A.1~1. Group, the labeling index was 18% and in the P. ~1. Groups, it vas 11.8%. The results indicate that different labeling indices, mitotic indices, and the generation time were calculated in the both group.
